About The Author

Author Shannon Carnes is a teacher certified in special education, as well as early childhood and elementary education, residing in Athens, GA, with her husband and three-year-old daughter. Her method originated out of necessity in her classroom of students with a variety of learning differences. After seeing those who could learn little else master multiplication facts, teachers in regular education classes began to take notice and requested she teach the method in their classrooms. Turns out, the method works just as effectively for students of all learning levels.

Shannon is currently offering workshops to both individuals and groups of students, teachers, parents, etc. Workshops can be customized to fit the time you have available. Workshops rates vary depending on the group size, number of books purchased, location, etc. For a limited time, certain Instructor Workshops are offered free of charge. Workshops for Instructors:

For instructors, a workshop simply saves you the time of reading the 'Instructor's Guide.' I can explain the method in as little as fifteen minutes, while longer amounts of time allow for a chapter-by-chapter look at the book, and a more complete understanding of what the method has to offer.

Workshops for Students:

Student workshops consist of the student being taught the actual method. If your child knows certain multiplication facts, but not others, then oftentimes an individual workshop session works well. The amount of time needed will vary depending upon individual's need. Summer Small-Group Workshops are scheduled depending on demand. These 4-5 day workshops are scheduled in blocks of 3 hours and can be held either in the morning or the afternoon. Group size is usually between 3 and 6 students. Group workshops are best for students who may or may not understand the process of multiplication, but have none or few facts memorized, as well as those who need extensive review and practice. These workshops feature both group and individualized instruction. Most students "Get It" in one week-long workshop session. Small-Group Workshops can also be scheduled during the school year, during after-school hours.
